Greenville County Schools are recognized as a high-quality school system that has been awarded National Accreditation from the AdvancED Accreditation Commission and has some of the finest schools in the district. Greenville also leads the state in school choice. They offer a variety of schools differing in size and location, as well as magnet academies which specialize in specific areas such as communication arts, languages, the arts, science, and mathematics. Located in Simpsonville, South Carolina, Bethel Elementary serves students in grades K-5. With a total enrollment of 990, they average about 165 students per grade level. They host a number of outstanding programs including Junior Achievement, Junior Beta Club, chorus, Student Council, and the Good News Club bible study just to name a few. They are also the recipient of several awards such as the Palmetto Silver Award for closing the achievement gap, South Carolina Art Educator of the Year, the Livewell Greenville Healthy Schools Award, and the South Carolina Red Carpet Award. Their mission is to provide an excellent education to all students in a nurturing environment. Their goal is to prepare students for the 21st century by encouraging critical thinking and responsibility.
Bells Crossing Elementary
Bells Crossing is also located in Simpsonville, South Carolina and serves students in grades K-5. Their total enrollment is 955 students. They meet the needs of a diverse learning body by encouraging differentiated instruction and real world experiences. They have also received many awards and honors such as the Palmetto Gold Award in 2010-2011, National School of Character in 2011, and they were recognized as an ASCA Model Program by the American School Counselor Association in 2014. Riverside Middle School
Riverside is located in Greer, SC and serves students in grades 6-8. Their total enrollment is 1,163 students. At Riverside Middle, students are academically challenged while they are nurtured socially, emotionally, and physically. Each student is encouraged to reach their academic potential with the help of a devoted staff and supportive community. Technology is an integral part of the school’s curriculum, as they work to prepare students for a technologically advanced world. Student programs include Beta Club, Royal Runners Club, Model United Nations, as well as athletics and extra-curricular programs. Awards include “A” Federal Accountability Rating, “Excellent” State Report Card Absolute Rating, Palmetto’s Finest Award, and Red Carpet School.
Langston Charter Middle School
Langston Charter is located in Greenville, SC and serves students in grades 6-8. With a total enrollment of 450 students, they are able to provide small classes in order to enhance student learning and achievement. Langston Charter is also unique in that classes are taught single/same gender in order to accommodate the different learning styles of boys and girls. They offer a rigorous curriculum led by a highly trained and devoted staff. Some clubs offered for students are running club, cooking club, glee club, Lego Robotics, Math Counts, and Art club. They also implement a Leadership Curriculum where students learn to set personal goals. Riverside High School
Located in Greer, SC, Riverside High School serves students in grades 9-12 and has a total enrollment of 1,653 students. They strive to provide a positive and nurturing environment that challenges students and prepares them for future success. They offer a curriculum with 3 levels of instruction in order to meet the needs of their diverse learners. In 2014, Riverside was named US News and World Report Best High School as well as Newsweek Magazine’s 100 best High Schools. Some of their excellent student programs include 4 levels of world languages, 11 advanced placement courses, Bi-lingual tutoring programs, award winning marching band, and an outstanding fine arts program.
Eastside High School
Eastside is located in Taylors, SC and serves students in grades 9-12 with a total enrollment of 1,448 students. They offer 15 Advanced Placement courses in Science, Math, Spanish, English, Social Studies, Music, World Languages, and Fine Arts. They also host award winning band, orchestra, and choral programs. Community service is of great importance and is evident through the school’s ability to raise over 1.3 million dollars for charity over the last 10 years. Some of their awards and accomplishments include Newsweek Magazine’s Best High Schools in the Nation, Top High School in Greenville County, and 2nd in the state of South Carolina.
